A person can have the purest intent when it comes to giving advice or helping you to mold your style, but who knows you better than you? When you have a thought or idea or concept, try it out. Learn how to make it work, enhancing it along the way. You may be surprised that you are able to answer your own questions and improve on your own being without always having to rely on the advise of others. You can clearly see this womans vision of her hair, it was just a little frizzy. The stylist could have used his expertise to demonstrate how to control the frizz or work with the frizz without butchering her hair. This woman, in my opinion, was more on the conservative style. Her hair, although it was big, it was controlled. Her clothes were solid muted colors and were not overly revealing. This stylist did the opposite of who she was. In life, get to know who you are, your likes and dislikes. What brings a smile to your face and what makes you burn on the inside. Trust yourself.

Don't Second Guess Yourself
So, I was watching an episode of what not to wear and there was a woman with big naturally curly hair. It was styled in a long bob type cut and looked okay, a bit frizzy, but okay. With curly hair, sometimes frizz comes with the territory. Well, the two fashion stylist on the show goes on to help her define a style that is suitable for her frame and lifestyle, which is what they do for all the guest on the show. Finally, they get down to the part where it now time to style her hair. I am excited at this point because this is the first woman of color who's hair is not relaxed that they will be styling. They always do a great job with women of other ethnicities who have curly hair, so I'm figuring that the hair stylist will give her tips on how to minimize the frizz, add color, etc. What happened next was a horror in my eyes!!!! The hair stylist took sections of hair and performed what looked like a razor cut, except he used scissors. He said that he was giving the guest a "modern" afro. When the final reveal was shown my eyes almost popped out of my head. Smoke was fuming from my ears...You call that a modern afro!!! The guest seemed to be happy so I guess that is all that mattered. But this episode reminded me of this one point that I learned over the past few years - When it comes to you, your person, yourself, DON'T second guess yourself.

Windy Days
I titled this blog Windy Days because that is just what today is for me...WINDY
When you feel like your being blown in every directions. You want to remain still, but the force is so strong that you sway back and forth, feeling like you are unable to be stable.
During these times, it is important to call on the Lord even the more. His word says, be still and know that I am God.
For me those words are firm. They are unmovable. I feel secure knowing that even though this invisible force is trying to move me from my location, Gods word is holding me in place. I will feel the force, I will see the evidence that something is there, but Gods word is my anchor.
I will be still. I will surrender my will and my strength in exchange for the might of the Lord because the battle is not mine, but it belongs to the Lord.
So when you have those Windy Days in your life, declare the word of the Lord over your situation.
